PREPARING FOR SMITH LAKE, AL

Preparing for Smith Lake, AL has begun. One of the first things I look at is the lake conditions. Watching water levels and weather trends helps me determine what stage the fish are currently in and how far they are expected to move into the next phase prior to the event.

Next is a multi-part approach using various mapping programs to include LakeMaster Contour Elite and MapperMaps.com. Finding key fishing area’s with the software programs while in my office allows me to scout the lake without having to drive hours to get there.
